Photo shoot inspiration
I would like to use the influence of these photos to create a photoshoot for my 'band', I would like to use some studio photography and well as photos of them playing live to create this.
Cover Draft
the colour style will be black, yellow and purple this would run through the whole of the magazine,
the front cover includes: a Cover Story, A new/ young Artists, Other Stories, reviews etc.I want this to appeal to young audiences.

Music Magazine Action Plan
I want to create a Music Magazine which includes information about rock music.
I plan to call my magazine Rift, I have chosen this as this is a harsh word reflecting the style of rock music.
My reader would be aged between 14 and 23, and would be mostly male although could also be enjoyed by females. they would hangout with their friends, perhaps skate parks, and go to many Gigs. They would shop at mostly specialised independent shops aimed at people who enjoy the same things, and also on-line. They would wear dark colours, band t-shirts and unique styles.

Results for my Music Magazine Survey
1. What Gender are you?
2. How Old are you?
81% of thye people who did my survey were aged 16-17, this is due to the fact that most of the people who I know and asked to do my survey were the same age as me.
3. How many magazines do you buy on a monthly basis?
The results range from 0-8 magazines, although the majority of respondents said they biy around 2 magazines a month
4. What genres of music do you generally listen to?
5. Do you often attend live local concerts or gigs? and if so how often?
The most common response to this question is about twice a year, although it does range from 3 or 4 times a month to never, so I think that including a gig guide would be a valuable article.

Music review analysis
This is my analysis of a review of Clare Maguire from the sunday times magazine:
Answer these questions before reading the article:
1. What do you think is the relevance of the term ‘Talking Topshop Blues’?
This Heading suggests that someone perhaps famous will be talking about how they feel about Topshop – ‘Blues’, not happy, sadness.
Alliteration
2. How many columns are there?
3
3. How Many images?
1
4. What connotations do the image gave the artist and the content of the article?
That she is a meaningful singer, who sings quite calm music, looks gothic with the red twigs and jet black hair
5. What are you initial impressions of this music feature?
There is lots of text, so people must have to be interested in reading about music. People who buy music magazines want to read about the music. This text to picture ration is too high, it could be broken up using images, subheadings, quotes etc.
Answer these questions after reading the article:
1. What techniques does the writer use in the first sentence to engage the reader?
The writers compare her to previous year’s extremely successful artists.
2. What does ‘Ubiquity’ mean?
status
3. What is the focus on paragraph one?
Describing her voice, the type of music she sings and her popularity and her new album
4. What technique features in Maguire’s quote in paragraph two?
Repetition of the word element.
5. In paragraph two, how is Maguire made to sound like an average person?
Because she is ‘suffering from a cold and nursing a fruit tea, in a cafĂ© in Brixton’
6. What is the focus on paragraph three?
Describing her appearance and how she is representing herself.
7. What do you think is exaggerated in paragraph three?
How she is a dark-pop girl and a dark and trouble soul and the bluesy genre of her music.
8. In paragraph five, what point is made about Maguire’s relationship with music?
Her feelings of ‘apartness’, pain and sorrow. It helps her express her feelings.
9. How many artists are mentioned in paragraph six?
8
10. What tone does the article end?
A positive tone, expectation, it is a new artist, and who can potentionally do well in the industry.
11. Which current artist is Maguire most similar to?
Ellie Goulding, Pixie Lott, Florence Welch.

Reader Profile for my School Magazine
I am aiming my school magazine at sixth formers as I feel they would be most interested in one, especially if it included information on university and what to do after school. Also they are going to be the most interested in Gigs and concerts locally as well as going out to the cinema etc. for which local information can be included in my magazine. Sixth formers will also have the most disposable income to spend on products such as magazines. I wish to include a couple of pages on fashion as well as this showed in the survey what people would most like to see in a school magazine.

Music Magazine comparison
At first glance it is quite obvious that the top of the pops website is aimed at young teenage girls, due to its bright colours of yellow and pink, it also has the tagline below the title ‘More Gossip, More Scandal, More…You!’ which tells you that the magazine is about celebrity gossip, which is usually aimed at young women. Although unlike all of the other magazine websites no information about the magazine, articles pictures or anything is available on their website with having to subscribe to their online magazine which costs just as much as their normal magazine does. Where as the NME website contains far more information, articles, interviews, competitions and many other features of a classic magazine on their website for free. The website contains a basic black and red theme running through which is also in the magazine. The website contains 2 large columns at the edge which contain a large advertisement for a video game, which is aimed a teen boys due to the soldiers, guns and blue colour scheme, this advertisement would be aimed at the websites most visitors to gain the most usage it can and therefore the largest audience must be men.

Mock up for my contents page
This is the draft for my contents page:
Although it contains no colour, photos or text, I feel I am going to stick with the blue and red colour scheme that I have used in the front cover to show continuity.
